Family businesses are of significant importance to the Austrian economy: They employ 67 percent of all employees, continue to create jobs and are proving to be remarkably resilient in the face of crisis. They have grown more rapidly in recent years compared to their counterparts in other countries and score highly in terms of their commitment, flexibility and ability to innovate.
In addition to succession, which is often not clear, the central challenge facing family businesses in Austria is the need to attract qualified management. A key consideration for family businesses is how they can attract the best managers and specialists for their internal reorganisation projects, expansion and internationalisation. We see ourselves as a sparring partner in this strategically important process of personnel decision making.
