Scope of the position

  • Overall responsibility for leading and managing the company’s shipbuilding organizations in Romania in order to achieve business goals in a sustainable way.
  • Develop the capability of the organization to manage large and complex projects from Project Management to Delivery phase.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and oversees the business plans, policies and programs in Romania that will effectively execute the business strategies and objectives set by division and group management.
  • Works collaboratively with the management team and other divisions’ management in order to attract and successfully deliver projects in the respective yards.
  • Works collaboratively with subcontractor’s top management in order to successfully deliver projects in the respective yards.
  • Ensures compliance in all business transaction with local laws and regulations.
  • Monitors costs against budget and challenge management teams of each yard to continuously improve processes and achieve business goals.
  • Makes key decisions, having the last call in the organization as per company statute and division management guidelines.
  • Creates initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, workers’ safety and environmental impact.
  • Liaisons with direct superior and other Council of Administration members to make sure all efforts are in alignment.

Professional Background

  • Proven general management experience in a large shipyard (>1,000 personnel) is preferred or large manufacturing business with multiple production sites (ex. offshore).
  • Proven Change Management experience, taking both cultural and structural aspects into consideration, are priority requirements for the position.
  • Proven turnaround experience with demonstrable metrics and business goals achieved.
  • Experience in setting up new operations and developing structures.
  • Strong business acumen and cost management abilities.

Education and Language

  • University degree (preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Legal or Technology).
  • Fluency in English

  • Decisive and result-oriented, strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Solution oriented, flexible, and positive attitude, able to identify opportunity and realize it. High commitment and involvement.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Our client offers an annual gross salary from EUR 120,000 onwards, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
